Sanofi Media Statement in Response to Inquiries Following Announcement of Logo Change in North America on June 15, 2011

Today, June 15, 2011 sanofi-aventis US has a new name– Sanofi US. This new identity will include the use of the Sanofi “bird of hope” logo and follows the name change of our parent company from sanofi-aventis to Sanofi

The new name recognizes that, in practice, the parent company was already commonly called Sanofi. There was also a very pragmatic need to make the company name easier to pronounce, translate and memorize in many countries. By changing the company name to Sanofi, the company hopes to strengthen its image and awareness around the globe as it seeks expansion into new markets, pursues acquisitions and partnerships, develops new products, and grows our business.

 

The new logo symbolizes the three key principles of Sanofi’s strategy: Innovation, Adaptability, and External Growth. The three complementary shapes make a whole: a planet with the bird of hope in the center, equally representing the diversity of our divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates and various teams.
