Sanofi Pasteur US President expands role to lead Canadian and Latin American businesses

Damian A. Braga has been promoted to the position of president US and vice president, Americas for Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of the sanofi-aventis Group. In his new position, Braga will oversee the company’s Canadian and Latin American businesses, in addition to retaining his current responsibilities as president of the US business.

 

Braga’s new role provides a more synergistic approach to managing activities in all three regions, particularly as it relates to immunization policies, product positioning, and medical thought leadership.

Braga has spent 19 years with the company, holding several key positions and contributing significantly to its accomplishments. In his last six years as president of the US Business Unit, he has aided the company in increasing US revenues by 20 percent a year, increasing sales to more than $2.0 billion in 2007.

 

Braga is active on a number of national and local boards. He represents the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Braga is a board member of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, and a former vice-chairman of the Pennsylvania Business Roundtable.

 

Braga earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., and a master of Business Administration from Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J. He resides in Long Valley, New Jersey with his family.
