Sanofi US launches healthFORWARD 2.0
New online community for managed care leaders

Bridgewater, New Jersey – September 29, 2011 – Sanofi US has launched a new online community exclusively for managed care executives and other professionals responsible for population-level health outcomes. The new platform, part of healthFORWARD 2.0, provides access to a variety of online tools and enables participants to collaborate and share health intervention ideas with peers in a closed community.

“The problem has become too big to go it alone. Finding solutions to help contain costs for chronic diseases like diabetes, for example, while achieving quality health care is quickly exceeding the capabilities of any one organization,” said Frank Musat, Sanofi US Vice President Payer Customer Marketing. “We need to move beyond specific company initiatives to industry-level collaboration and strategic thinking. This is what we hope to accomplish with healthFORWARD 2.0.”

The new online community is intended for executives at managed care organizations and other health professionals directly responsible for developing population-based health interventions. Within healthFORWARD 2.0, users can:

  • Access compiled epidemiological learnings: The site includes access to epidemiologic interventions focused on diabetes, atrial fibrillation and health care quality. All case studies are submitted in a standardized format, allowing for fast, searchable comparisons of multiple variables.
  • Seek opinions from others: Through discussion boards and case study feedback, participants can collaborate with industry thought leaders based in academic institutions and other settings. This provides new perspectives that can stimulate unique solutions.
  • Engage in peer-based round table discussions: Participants can acquire critical insights and alternative approaches through peer-to-peer interaction in a closed community.
  • Utilize health tools: Over 100 digitized, EHR-ready, evidence-based patient tools that your case managers can roll out quickly and efficiently.

The healthFORWARD 2.0 platform is for professionals at Accountable Care Organizations; Independent Practice Associations and Physician Medical Groups; Long-term Care or Skilled Nursing Facilities; Commercial Health Plans; National or Regional Managed Care Organizations; Employers; Hospitals; Pharmacy and other similar managed care organizations. Access to intervention-level discussions and resources is limited to Chief Executives and Directors of Medical, Pharmacy, and Quality Initiatives, as well as select industry thought leaders from academic institutions or other recognized health care innovators.

The original healthFOWARD platform, launched in 2009, was created to provide non-branded patient education materials for caregivers, including case managers, diabetes educators, nurses and pharmacists. Based on feedback from users, Sanofi US replaced stagnant printed versions of patient materials with 80 digital patient and provider education pieces in healthFORWARD 2.0.

Currently focusing on 3 key topics—diabetes, atrial fibrillation, and overall health quality initiatives— Sanofi US hopes to eventually expand the online offerings to address additional areas of concern to the entire health care industry.
